Brad Scott has agreed to become Essendon's senior coach.
Scott replaces Ben Rutten, who was fired as Bombers head coach last month.
He coached North Melbourne from 2010 until mid-2019.
Scott was the AFL's general manager of football.
The Bombers confirmed Scott's appointment Thursday night.
"At 46, Brad has an incredible resume and is the experienced figure the club needed," Bombers president David Barham wrote.
"Brad has all the qualities to be Essendon's long-term coach.
